7K Distillery was founded by a lad who grew up in the country with an insatiable interest in making things. While doing an apprenticeship, Tyler began to dream about creating his own distillery - from scratch. So in 2016 that's exactly what he did. The initial building for the distillery was cut from two used shipping containers and a 1100L copper pot still was built from the ground up. Designing and building the still from scratch meant that it would perfectly fit the confined size of the shipping containers and gave Tyler more of a personal connection with the still itself. The distillery has since outgrown its initial creative shell and the new location (finally) has enough room for a cellar door!
We're incredibly chuffed to be one of very few stockists of this triple pack gin gift pack. It features three of the distillery's core range of gins. Inside, you'll find a 200ml bottle of the following three gins:
Modern Tasmanian Gin
This modern take on a dry gin dials back the juniper influence just enough to let the underlying floral and citrus botanicals come to life. Featuring a bold eucalyptus nose and a zesty mandarin and earthy coriander seed body. The perfect balance for vibrant summer cocktails or a relaxed G&T.
Tasmanian Raspberry Gin
A sweet yet refreshing mixture created with Tasmanian-grown Willamette raspberries, grown in Westerway, just up the river from the distillery. The raspberries are picked at the height of the season then preserved in the distillery's Modern Tasmanian dry gin to keep the flavour fresh. No added syrups or artificial ingredients, naturally sweet.
Dry Chilli Gin
A celebration of the almighty Carolina Reaper chilli, this gin pulls no punches, bravely using it as a main ingredient. The team have also dialled up the juniper for a London Dry style boost, which coincidentally helps to bring out a strawberry-like flavour from the chillies. If this big, bold flavour sounds intimidating, relax – the chilli spice is perfectly balanced in a Bloody Mary, Martini or G&T.
